HR Role in Managing Workforce Diversity in organization- “A Case Study on United Commercial Bank Limited”.
Abstract
In the competitive business world, Human Resources (HR) practices are essential for the success of an organization. The workforce is one of the most valuable assets of a business, and it is the department of human resources' job to oversee its management and development. Managing workforce diversity is important for a bank because it can lead to improved performance, increased innovation, better customer service, greater employee engagement and compliance with laws and regulations. The role of HR in managing workforce diversity in a bank includes creating and implementing policies and programs that promote a diverse and inclusive work environment. This includes recruiting and hiring a diverse workforce, providing training and development opportunities, and promoting a culture of respect and inclusion. United Commercial Bank Limited is a well renowned private commercial bank in Bangladesh and around 4thousnd employees are working in this organization and they are likely to have a comprehensive set of policies and procedures in place to govern its HR practices and ensure ethical behavior. The main purpose of this report is to study and analyze the current state of workforce diversity management practices in the United Commercial Bank Limited by the HR department and identifies the challenges of HR to play a role in managing the workforce within the organization.
In order to examine the issue, a standard questionnaire has been prepared. Data have been collected through survey from the employees of the United Commercial Bank Limited. The role of HR in managing workforce diversity in United Commercial Bank Limited includes creating and implementing policies and programs that promote a diverse and inclusive work environment. This includes recruiting and hiring a diverse workforce, providing training and development opportunities, and promoting a culture of respect and inclusion. The collected data have been analyzed by descriptive way, and draw the conclusion and recommendation according to the analysis and findings part.
